This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format.
1 Kings 7:1-51
- Solomon spends thirteen years building his own palace complex, including the Hall of the Forest of Lebanon and a palace for Pharaoh’s daughter.
- Detailed descriptions are given of the temple’s bronze furnishings—pillars, the Sea, stands, and utensils—crafted by Hiram, after which the dedicated treasures are placed in the temple.
2 Chronicles 4:1-22
- Parallel account of the temple furnishings: the bronze altar, the great Sea resting on twelve oxen, ten stands with basins, and golden items for the inner sanctuary.
- All the work is completed and the utensils are finished for use in the house of the Lord.
Acts 19:21-41
- Paul resolves to go to Jerusalem and then Rome; a riot erupts in Ephesus when Demetrius the silversmith stirs up craftsmen whose livelihood depends on making idols of Artemis.
- The city is thrown into confusion, a large crowd gathers in the theater, and the town clerk finally quiets the assembly, warning against unlawful behavior.
