1 Chronicles 20:1-8

- Joab leads the army to besiege and capture Rabbah of the Ammonites while David remains in Jerusalem, taking the king's crown and much spoil.

- Battles against Philistine giants in Gezer result in their defeat by David's mighty men, ending further threats from the Philistines.

Psalms 32:1-11

- Blessed are those whose sins are forgiven and covered, with no deceit in their spirit, as David experienced relief after confessing his transgressions.

- The godly are urged to pray while God may be found, to not be like stubborn horses, and to rejoice in the Lord's steadfast love and deliverance.

Psalms 51:1-19

- David pleads for mercy and cleansing from his sin, acknowledging his iniquity and asking God to create a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him.

- He vows to teach sinners God's ways, praises God for a broken spirit as true sacrifice, and prays for Zion's prosperity and the rebuilding of Jerusalem's walls.

Psalms 86:1-17

- David cries out for God to hear and answer him in trouble, affirming God's goodness, mercy, and uniqueness among gods while seeking strength and guidance.

- He asks for a sign of God's favor, deliverance from enemies, and comfort for his soul, trusting in the Lord's steadfast love and compassion.

Psalms 122:1-9

- The psalmist rejoices at the invitation to go to the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, where tribes ascend to give thanks and pray for the city's peace.

- Prayers are offered for the peace and security of Jerusalem, for the sake of brothers, friends, and the house of the Lord.

Acts 5:12-42

- The apostles perform many signs and wonders, meeting in Solomon's Portico with growing numbers of believers, while the sick are healed by Peter's shadow.

- Arrested and miraculously freed by an angel, the apostles teach in the temple; before the council they declare obedience to God over men, are flogged, and rejoice while continuing to preach Jesus.
