This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format.
Psalms 67:1-7
- God is asked to be gracious, bless his people, and make his face shine so his ways and salvation may be known among all nations.
- The earth yields its harvest as the peoples praise God, who rules justly and guides the nations with blessing upon his people Israel.
Psalms 69:1 - 70:5
- The psalmist cries out in deep distress from waters of trouble, reproach, and enemies, pleading for God's salvation and rescue from sinking and shame.
- Urgent pleas for God to hasten help, let enemies be shamed, and for those who seek him to rejoice, with the afflicted praising God in their need.
Acts 4:1-22
- Peter and John are arrested by priests and Sadducees for teaching the resurrection, then boldly declare to the council that the healing was by the name of the crucified and risen Jesus.
- The council warns them to stop speaking in Jesus' name, but Peter and John refuse, saying they must obey God, leading to further threats and release due to the people's praise.
