June is “Biblical Marriage Month” at St. Paul’s. It is a celebration of God’s design for marriage, even as it is lived out in the brokenness of this world. Christ is “in all things.” (Col 1.17) He is in marriages that are thriving, and in marriages that are struggling. He says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27, ESV) Christ’s call is to follow, and since—per Ephesians 5—the marriage of Christ and His Church is the true marriage, we all have a vested interest in helping God’s design for marriage be known and practiced. Being a Christian family is about forgiving as we have been forgiven by Christ, and about growing in faith, hope, and love.
