The Maresca Statement

Chelsea FC officially released a statement about Enzo Maresca’s departure — confirming they received £17 million from Manchester City, plus an undisclosed amount. The club’s framing? Maresca upended the whole season by wanting to leave. Which... isn’t wrong. But as someone on Twitter put it: who keeps hiring these managers? Blueco picked Liam R. We lay out the three possible explanations: the asking price was too high (hard to believe after Newcastle), nobody wants to work with Blueco (possible), or they just... haven’t tried (our money is on this one).
