概要

When you sign up for the weighty task of homeschooling, not many of us feel great confidence in our "stellar" education, no matter how many degrees we have. You may feel under-educated and ill-equipped, especially looking at the end of the race: High School.

I help moms who feel inadequate in their ability to homeschool. You can go from feeling undereducated to a confident, joyful life-long learner. We are recording real classes for you so you can strengthen your own intellectual courage and curiosity and thus develop into a great teacher.

Enjoy these recordings from our Charlotte Mason High School. I hope our fantastic discussions show you what a joy it is to invest in these final years of the homeschooling journey.

I would LOVE to hear from you. There is always more to discuss about a book, and I would love to hear your thoughts, your struggles, and your suggestions! Email: redeemmyeducation@gmail.com

  • Deep Discussions in High School (Homeschooling Teens) Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Part 3
    2026/03/16

How do you have meaty discussions with your teenagers? Discussions forge the deep relationships we want with our kids, and solidify deep growth in their character. If you don't expect valuable insights to come out of the mouth of your children, you are sabotaging the potential you have for deep discussions.

Join me for a real Homeschool High School class with Adalyn (age 15) and Esther (age 14) as we read through the poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Coleridge. You can follow along with captions on Youtube.

I hope your appreciation for poetry will grow, and you will gain skill in having deep, life-shaping discussions within your own family.

  • Learn to love poetry! Part 2: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
    2026/03/09

Years ago I couldn't handle a poem that wasn't written for kids, but I've grown-- and you can to!

My goal is to help moms who dream of meaty high school discussions, but feel lost in the world of upper-level classes. If you invest in your own education, and you can have the meaningful experiences with your teenagers that you dreamed of when you started your homeschool journey.

Listen in on a real class as I read and discuss Part 2 of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner with my daughter Esther (14 years old) and friend Adalyn (15 years old). This is a public domain book, so you can follow along with text online, or you can watch the video on youtube with captions.

One challenge of upper-level literature is that the beginnings are hard. We have more questions than answers at this point. But the more we wonder, the more "wonder" we have when things are revealed! Read with courage and curiosity and trust the answers to come in due time (like in Part 3!!!).

  • Hate poetry? Learn to love it! The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Part 1 Read-along
    2026/03/02

Just the other day my friend said, "I HATED poetry in High School!" I didn't read more than a handful of poems before I graduated. Poems can be so hard to understand, the point seems to go over our heads, and actually make us feel dumber than when we started reading. Read a list of poems included in any Charlotte Mason curriculum and you can despair: How can I pass on a love of poetry to my children?!?!

We know intrinsically that poetry can enrich our souls. Your homeschool starts with your loves. You must legitimately learn to love poetry. This is not far fetched, it will happen through practice in community!

I help moms who feel inadequate in their ability to homeschool. You can start by feeling undereducated and become a confident, joyful life-long learner. You can walk the path that you want to lead your children down.

I am recording my real class as we read and discussion through the poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner with Adalyn (age 15) and Esther (age 14). I am inviting you in so that you can strengthen your own intellectual courage and curiosity and thus develop into a great teacher.

I hope our fantastic discussions show you what a joy it is to invest in these final years of the homeschooling journey.

I would LOVE to hear from you. There is always more to discuss about a poem, and I would love to hear your thoughts, your struggles, and your suggestions! Email: redeemmyeducation@gmail.com

The poem is written in 7 sections, so join us for 7 weeks as we read through and discuss together. We will read 1 part each week. Part 2: 3-12, Part 3: 3-19, Part 4: 3-26, Part 5: 4-2, Part 6: 4-9, Part 7: 4-16.
