    We journey on to the next subject in the model prayer which Jesus prayed which is "...your kingdom come." Pastor Brandon leads us this morning in learning about what that is and how it needs to apply to our daily lives. Our Father wants us to talk to Him about His kingdom. We see this echoed throughout scripture, that we are to seek His kingdom, His glory. And a couple big truths is that prayer is not about pulling God to our will, but the aligning of our will to the will of God. As well as understanding that God wants you to be involved in His work even before you talk to Him about your failures. He wants us to be heaven minded people in all that we do.     We start a new series all about prayer and how to follow the biblical model which Jesus taught us for prayer. Many of us can struggle at knowing just the right thing to say or worrying about making it meaningful, but in following the model prayer that Jesus taught His disciples, we can learn how to pray too. We also have to begin by understanding this crucial concept, that our relationship with God thrives as our prayer life grows. The first line in the Lord's Prayer begins by calling the Lord "Father". Jesus teaches us that he wants us to call Him Father, but that God also wants us to talk to Him like He is our Father. Our awareness of God as our Father sets the tone for every interaction we have with Him. In fact, Paul reminds us at the start of every single letter he wrote, that God is our Father; which means its important for us to remember.     We finish out the book of Ephesians this week! Throughout this series we have maintained this framework of mind, that this letter to the Ephesians teaches us to grow in every season. In this chapter Paul emphasizes the need to keep God in mind when it comes to all of our relationships, and in how we handle them. He also teaches us to keep a heavenly view of the happenings of life. In all that we do, we are to stand firm and equip the whole armor of God. And Paul instructs us to pray on all occasions. Ultimately, the book of Ephesians teaches us that real growth is reflective of a heavenly perspective.     Jumping into chapter five of Ephesians, we remind ourselves that following Jesus requires that we actually follow Jesus; in word and deed. And we've started off each week of this series reminding ourselves that the letter to the Ephesians teaches us to grow in every season. And as we follow Jesus we have to remember to walk in love. It is the center of all that we do and say. We have to remember to walk in light, for what companion is darkness to the light; as He is in the light, so should we be. And we have to remember to walk in wisdom. We are to follow Jesus into more and more wisdom as he has become for us wisdom from God. There is not a season that is absent of growth, and to grow in every season, you have to embrace that God has graced you to be a life-giver through Him. Growing up is learning that there are actions that produce life and there are actions that destroy life. God urges us to look at and examine your actions and to choose those things which bring life.     Remembering to grow is essential to our daily walk with Jesus, and the letter to Ephesians reminds us and teaches us to grow in every season. Pastor Brandon leads us through chapter two of this book and points out things we have to remember as we walk. Remember... that you were dead because of the things you both did and didn't do. Meaning, there are two types of ways to miss the mark; the omission decisions = transgressions, and the commission decisions = sins. And we have to remember that it is because of Jesus' great love for us, that he did what he did. Remember that you are alive in Christ and that God works in you to do good works through you. Remember what it was like to not know God. Remember that we grow together as a body of believers.     We begin a new series today going through the book of Ephesians; Growth Rings. The book of Ephesians teaches us that, just like a tree, there is opportunities to grow in every season, whether or not it is an easy season or a hard one. When looking at the first chapter of Ephesians, we see that being grateful to the Lord helps us to grow in every season: be thankful that the Lord chose us, be thankful that He freely gave to us, be thankful that He has redeemed and forgiven us, be thankful that He lavished on us, be thankful that He has included us and marked us with the Holy Spirit.
