As we preview our merger between Catalyst and Hope Grove, we are digging into how we can better serve God's Kingdom with our spiritual gifts. This week Pastor Jeff and Pastor Alex sat down with Lisa Vaupel interview-style to discuss what we will be doing with this series in the coming weeks.

The Scripture reading was from 1 Corinthians 12.

This week Heather Jones shared a message on holiness alongside our connection to technology. The main Scripture for this week comes from 1 Peter 1:13-16, along with some other readings with each discussion question (see below):

1 Peter:

• What is your reaction to the word 'holy'? What comes to mind or what do you picture as you think about holiness?
• If you could make all the changes you want in an instant, what would your relationship to screens look like?

Spirit:

• John 4:23; Galatians 5:16-17
• How can we use screens to nourish and help our spirit and connection to the Father?

Soul:

• Romans 8:6-7
• As we think about how much our use of screens can feed into our minds, will and emotions, is there anything you need to add or discard in your use of screens to give health to your soul?

Body:

• Psalm 101:3; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
• What sticks out to you from these passages? How can we use screens to bless our bodies as a temple of the Holy Spirit?

This week Pastor Jeff walked us through a brief theology of work based on 1 Corinthians 7:17-22.

Hollis Kim, the Director of Pastoral Care & Development for the ECC Northwest Conference, led us through an inductive study of Luke 15:1-10 to spend time studying Scripture as a community.

This week Pastor Jeff gave a message on biblical wisdom around money and finances from Proverbs 13:7-11.

This week Pastor Jeff lead us through a lesson on family systems and faith. The Scripture reading comes from 1 Kings 15:1-15.
