Hey Carpool Crew,

Most kids know Daniel because of the lions. But long before the lions' den, Daniel was a teenager who got taken from his home. Today on Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible, Pastor Justin starts a brand-new five-episode journey with Daniel by going back to the very beginning, when King Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem and marched Daniel and his three friends hundreds of miles to Babylon.

Babylon tried to erase everything about them, even giving them new names to push God out. But Daniel learned the truth that held him steady for the rest of his life: God had not stayed back in Jerusalem. God went to Babylon too. Daniel had been taken from his home, but he had not been taken from his God.

This episode is for every kid who has ever felt dropped somewhere new and scary, a new school, a new house, a back-and-forth between two homes, a new team where they knew no one. About 10 minutes, kid-friendly, with a real-life takeaway parents can talk through on the drive.

This week we're starting a five-episode journey through the life of Joseph, one of the most surprising heroes in the Bible. In Episode 1, we go back to the beginning. Joseph is seventeen, the favorite son in a complicated family, and God gives him a dream that nobody around him is ready to hear. The reaction is fast and brutal. By the end of Genesis 37, Joseph is sold by his own brothers and headed to Egypt. The dream God gave him is still alive. The people closest to him are not.

For parents listening with your kids: this episode is a doorway into a real conversation about what to do when the people in your child's life don't celebrate what God is doing in them. We name the pain honestly and we anchor it in who God says they are.

Who was Rahab, and why would God choose her to play such an important role in one of the Bible's most incredible stories?

In Episode 1 of our five-part series on Rahab the Brave Believer, we travel to the ancient city of Jericho, one of the oldest fortified cities in the world. As Joshua prepares the Israelites to enter the Promised Land, two spies are sent into the city and find themselves at the home of an unexpected woman named Rahab.

At first glance, Rahab seems like the last person anyone would expect God to use. She lived on the edge of society, carried a difficult reputation, and wasn't part of God's chosen people. Yet God saw something deeper.
