Join Pastor Peter for a special Father's Day message in the book of 1 Kings 2:1-9. Of all the myriads of passages that we could meditate on to highlight the beauty and the power of fatherhood, this year I was drawn to the above passage. Here David is nearing the end of his life and he is passing on the throne to his son Solomon. As a part of this ceremony David passes along to Solomon some final words of wisdom. What was once a scandal, that Christ would call unworthy sinners, will be made righteous by the power of His mercy and the potency of His love. So this father’s day let’s celebrate the role of good fathers, but more than this to always strive to meditate on the supreme glory of our Father in heaven and His amazing plan for us!What does God's word have to say? As we prepare to celebrate 250 years of American independence I thought it would be a good opportunity to meditate on an interesting concept that we find in the Scriptures, that Christians are citizens of heaven and how that reality manifests itself in our earthly citizenship and responsibilities.So while our earthly identities can provide us with an amazing sense of belonging, this belonging is dependent on our own faithfulness. Join Pastor Peter as we continue our study through the book of Numbers. Last week we went over Numbers 16 and 17 which describes the rebellion that was led by a coalition of religious and political figures that opposed the rule of Moses and Aaron. Far from God simply telling the children of Israel that they merely have to accept Aaron and Moses as their leaders because “He said so”, He instead reveals the heart of Moses and Aaron and establishes the purpose of true leadership and the reason for Godly hierarchy. No matter what capacity we have as a leader, this is what we strive to do. To see allow for all creation to speak of Christ and to be an occasion to praise and exalt Him.What does God's word have to say? Have a listen!

The people of God complain against the provision of the Lord, and He sends some sort of judgement that wipes out the dissidents, Moses and Aaron intercede for the people, and then the cycle starts over again.It is when we understand this truth that we can find rest, not in the power of God, but in the love of God, and we can seek to emulate this in our own lives!What does God's word have to say? Join Pastor Peter as we begin our new study through the book of Numbers. We are continuing the narrative of God’s people and their movement from slavery to the promised land. The people of God are ready to move towards the land that God had promised to their ancestor Abraham. In these first few verses we see the Israelites complaining against God about the difficulties that they were facing in the wilderness. And then we see complaints from Moses towards God about how he feels mistreated in his call towards the Israelite people.

We are every day sowing our stories and our circumstances, and if we treat this process with respect and dignity, we will see the power of the resurrection throughout our lives!What does God's word have to say? Have a listen!

Up until this point, the nation of Israel has had some failures before the Lord that have resulted in some pretty catastrophic consequences.
