概要
In this message, we walk slowly and thoughtfully through the seven final sayings of Jesus on the cross—each one deliberate, prophetic, and overflowing with meaning. From His prayer of forgiveness, to His promise of salvation, to His cry of abandonment under the weight of our sin, every word reveals the depth of Christ’s love and the purpose of His suffering.
We consider His care for His mother, His fulfillment of Scripture, His triumphant declaration—*“It is finished”—*and His final act of surrender to the Father. These sayings show us forgiveness offered, prophecy fulfilled, judgment endured, and redemption completed.
But the story does not close with Christ’s final breath. John 19:40–42 brings us to the quiet, sacred act of His burial—Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus tenderly wrapping, carrying, and laying the body of the Savior in a borrowed tomb. The One who created all things now lies still and silent, the Lamb slain and the work complete.
Tonight, we leave the story there—at the sealed tomb, in the solemn stillness of burial—not in despair but in anticipation. Because we know that beneath that stone rests not only the body of Jesus, but the victory He has won. We sit in the silence, feel the weight of the cross… and wait. Resurrection is coming.
