  • 16. Do You Know What is Draining You? The Battles You Never Needed to Fight
    2026/09/07
What if the reason you’re so exhausted isn’t just because you have too much to do, but because you’re fighting too many battles? From toddler independence and daughters who suddenly refuse to wear bows, to husbands who somehow miss the basket you specifically put there for their things...motherhood is full of moments where we have to decide: Is this really worth my energy? In this episode, we’re talking about the difference between the battles that require our attention and the ones we need to release. Because not every irritation needs to become an argument, not every problem is ours to fix, and not every outcome is ours to control. Through the story of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20, we’re reminded that a battle can be very real—and still belong to God. Maybe making time for Mom isn’t always about finding another hour in the day. Maybe sometimes it starts by putting down the things God never asked us to carry. “The battle is not yours, but God’s.” — 2 Chronicles 20:15 Resources

  • 15. When the Coffee Isn't Doing it Anymore: When You Keep Running on Empty
    2026/08/31

Have you ever found yourself reaching for another cup of coffee to fuel yourself and regain your energy...only to realize the coffee isn't doing it anymore?

Sometimes our bodies recognize exhaustion long before our minds are willing to respond. Instead of listening, we push through. We grab more caffeine, reach for our phones, turn on more noise, or find another task to accomplish.

But what if the things we're reaching for aren't meeting the need at all? What if they're helping us mask the signal?

In Episode 15 of Called & Rooted, Darby talks about why rest can feel like laziness, why high achievers have such a hard time stopping, and what Scripture shows us about God's design for rest. From Elijah being told, “the journey is too much for you,” to Peter sleeping in the middle of uncertainty, we're looking at what happens when we finally stop trying to run on empty.

If you've been waiting for permission to stop, leave something unfinished, and simply go to bed—this episode is for you.

  • 14. Waiting to Hear From God? Don't Miss His Presence
    2026/08/24

Have you ever been so focused on hearing from God that you forgot what it feels like to simply be with Him?

We often come to God looking for answers, direction, or clarity, but sometimes what our hearts need most isn't another answer---what we need is to just need His presence. In this episode, we're talking about finding Jesus in the middle of the crowd, the peace that comes when we fix our eyes on Him, and what it looks like to sit with God even when He hasn't given us the answer yet. Because sometimes nothing around us has to change for something within us to change. Sometimes we just need to realize: There He is. He's here. And His presence is enough. Scripture: Mark 5:25–34 | Isaiah 26:3
