    Fibrosis remains one of the greatest unmet needs in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), contributing to irreversible structural bowel damage, complications, and long-term morbidity despite advances in anti-inflammatory therapies. Many gastroenterologists and multidisciplinary gastrointestinal (GI) care teams lack confidence in recognizing patients at risk for fibrotic progression and inconsistently apply objective monitoring and management strategies until complications have already developed. In addition, evolving insights into the biologic mechanisms driving chronic tissue remodeling and emerging therapeutic approaches targeting these pathways have not yet been fully integrated into routine clinical practice.
