This summer, we explore themes from popular films alongside Scripture, uncovering how God's truth speaks through the stories we love. From adventure and sacrifice to redemption and hope, each week reminds us that God is present in every part of our story—inviting us into something greater.

This week, Parish Associate, Rev. Dr. Chris Lenocker delves into the classic movie, The Shawshank Redemption. Pastor Chris examines the journey of banker Andy Dufresne who is wrongfully convicted of mudering his wife and sentenced to life in a harsh prison. Over the next two decades, he befriends fellow inmate Red, survives rampant corruption, and covertly digs a tunnel to freedom. In following Andy Dufresne's journey, we discover what true freedon is for us as followers of Christ, and that no matter how strong the chains that bind, the gospel offers freedom from within.
