  • Was TURBULENCE Always in the Forecast for the Chicago Sky in 2025? | CHGO Sky Podcast
    2025/07/31
The Chicago Sky came into the 2025 WNBA season with mild expectations of making the playoffs. They had two top-7 picks of the high-profile 2024 WNBA Draft, brought Courtney Vandersloot back, and also brought in a cast of capable two-way veterans that improved the spacing and shifted the context of play they’d be able to evolve into — starting with Ariel Atkins. That latter portion was a bet on themselves in a way that suggested they had plans to compete for one of the back-end playoff spots, ascending from having just missed the playoffs (largely due to late season injuries) that plagued them at the end of last season. Were these moves just? Is this where the team is “supposed to be” in their process as they work to climb back into the thick of the WNBA? Who’s to be held most accountable for the ways in which things have developed following the 2023 WNBA season? Were the ranks of WNBA franchises just for where the Sky came in? Additionally, what have been the assessments of Kamilla Cardoso in the 2025 season so far? Stephen PridGeon-Garner is back with the latest episode of the CHGO Sky podcast, joined by creator and owner of Chicago State of Mind Sports — Brian Teague. Dive into the details of all above, with these two as they assess the lay of the land in Sky Town so far in the 2025 season!
