In the first CGHD Reflections, Chatty looks back at Episode 1, discovers the peculiar experience of repeatedly listening to his own voice, and explains why the main episodes of Chatty Geek, Hidden Dragon aim for that oddly specific 50-minute mark.
There’s also a proper invitation to future guests: you don’t need to be a counsellor or psychologist. Bring a fictional character you care about, know far too much about, or simply cannot stop thinking about, and we’ll get curious about them together.
Plus: the first listener character suggestion takes us towards Blade Runner, Roy Batty and Deckard enter consideration for the imaginary counselling room, and a deeply questionable new feature makes its debut: Joke of the Week.
Reflections is the shorter, looser side of CGHD — a place for listener comments, questions, corrections, character suggestions, ridiculous tangents and whatever else happens between the bigger character deep dives.
In this episode:
- What Chatty learned from recording and editing Episode 1
- Why CGHD's main episodes aim for around 50 minutes
- What being a guest on the podcast actually involves
- Roy Batty, Deckard and a possible future trip into Blade Runner
- How listener comments and fan mail may appear in future Reflections
- The regrettable rebirth of Joke of the Week
Thoughtful, playful conversations about fictional characters, personal growth and the stories that help us understand ourselves.
