  • DYLAN RAIOLA OUT FOR THE SEASON. NOW WHAT? | Huskers vs UCLA Preview | Bleav in Nebraska
    2025/11/03

    This one hurts, Husker Nation.

On Saturday night, Nebraska didn’t just lose a game — they lost their quarterback and emotional engine. Dylan Raiola is out for the season with a broken fibula. Before leaving the game, Raiola had this team up 14–6 and was pushing for another statement win.

Matt Rhule revealed after the game that Raiola tried to go back in — helmet on, begging for a chance to finish the fight — but Rhule wouldn’t risk further injury:

"I love you too much to put you back out there like this." — Matt Rhule

Raiola finishes the year throwing for 2,000 yards, 18 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, establishing himself as the future of Nebraska football.

Now, it’s NEXT MAN UP as true freshman TJ Lateef takes over.

    In this episode:

    • What Raiola’s injury means for the offense moving forward
    • Why Lateef’s legs can be a weapon — but why Nebraska MUST find ways to throw
    • How the Huskers emotionally reset before UCLA under the lights
    • Updated expectations for the rest of the season

    We also look around campus:

    • Nebraska men’s hoops — Rienk Mast drops 31 vs. BYU, and the Huskers cruise in exhibitions
    • Nebraska women’s hoops — opened the season with a dominant WIN tonight (nice! )

It’s a heavy moment, but this team has fought through adversity all year.

Husker Nation — stick with us. This season is not over.

  • Husker Game Day Preview | Blackout in Lincoln: How Nebraska BEATS USC | Bleav in Nebraska
    2025/11/01

It’s a blackout in Memorial Stadium and the world expects USC to walk in and beat Nebraska.

    Not on OUR watch.

In this Husker Gameday Preview, Bryan Colbert Jr. breaks down BC’s Three Keys to Victory that Nebraska MUST execute to upset USC:

    1. FEED EMMETT JOHNSON — 25+ Touches USC got gashed on the ground vs Notre Dame, and Nebraska has the back to exploit it. Emmett Johnson is the tone setter — when he touches the ball, the entire offense takes shape.
    2. PROTECT DYLAN RAIOLA — Quick Game > Hero Ball The offensive line has struggled. This week isn’t about deep shots — it’s about rhythm, tempo & the ball coming out FAST.
    3. MAKE THIS ONE COUNT Contract extension for Coach Rhule. National spotlight. Memorial Stadium blacked out. Underdogs at home.
This is a “shock the world”

If Nebraska leans into its identity — physicality, discipline, and toughness — the Huskers can walk out with the upset.

    2025/10/21

Welcome back, Husker Nation! It’s time for another Big Red Rewind on the Bleav in Nebraska Podcast, the show for the fans, by the fans. I’m your host Bryan Colbert Jr., and we’re breaking down everything Head Coach Matt Rhule had to say following the loss to Michigan — plus what it means heading into Nebraska’s matchup with Northwestern this weekend.

We start with Coach Rhule’s opening statement and injury updates, then dig into:

    • What he saw from the offensive line and why communication up front is still the biggest concern.
    • How Dylan Raiola continues to impress with his poise under pressure — avoiding 4–5 potential sacks — even as protection broke down.
    • The ongoing search for balance in the run game, and how Nebraska plans to restore physicality in the trenches.
    • How the secondary continues to shine despite injuries, maintaining a top-ranked pass defense nationally.
    • Rhule’s message on mindset: “Good teams don’t lose two in a row.”
    • What he wants to see from Dana Holgorsen and this offense against Northwestern — and which young Huskers are earning more snaps.

We also hear from Coach about the team’s energy in practice after the loss, why he decided to pull certain starters late in the game, and how the Huskers can maintain their confidence and chip-on-the-shoulder mentality as they reach the midpoint of the season.

  • Huskers Heating Up + Exclusive with RB Emmett Johnson | Nebraska vs. Maryland Recap
    2025/10/16

The Huskers are looking like one of the scariest teams in the Big Ten, and the heat is officially on in Lincoln.

    Exclusive Interview: Emmett Johnson (RB1)

    • Emmett joins the show to talk about his midseason mindset and what’s driving his success.
    • How he’s balancing leadership with production.
    • What he expects from the Minnesota defense — and how the Huskers plan to attack.
    • Reflections on how the bye week helped reset the locker room for the stretch run.

    Opponent Snapshot: Minnesota Golden Gophers

    • Head Coach J. Fleck (since 2017) — “Row the Boat” culture, physical run game, controlled tempo.
    • QB Drake Lindsey — limited mobility, quick reads, 3 interceptions this season.
    • RB Darius Taylor — explosive when healthy (986 yds, 10 TDs in 2024), a key piece to watch.
    • Expect a ball-control battle — meaning the Huskers’ pass rush and secondary must stay sharp.

    Bleav It or Not:
Nebraska’s defense holds Minnesota under 20 points.

    • The Huskers lead the nation in pass defense, allowing just ~118 YPG.
    • Opponents have averaged only 8 PPG through six weeks.
    • Minnesota is averaging under 25 PPG on the season and has struggled to generate explosive plays.

  • Husker Game Day Preview 🏈🔴: Ameer Abdullah on How Nebraska Beats Maryland | What We Need on O & D
    2025/10/11

What’s good, Husker Nation! 🌽🏈 It’s Big Red Preview time, and we brought in one of the best to ever do it in Lincoln — Ameer Abdullah — to help us map out how Nebraska handles Maryland today.

    In this episode

    • What we need to see on offense
      • Start fast: scripted first 10 with RB1 touches and quick-game rhythm for Raiola.
      • Protect 15: chips/slide help, move the launch point, keep negative plays off schedule.
      • RB1 effect: Emmett Johnson early & often (inside zone/duo + screens/angles).
      • Finish drives: low-red-zone sequencing — TE involvement (Lindenmeyer), perimeter constraint, QB keep as the counter.
    • What we need to see on defense
      • Cap explosives: keep everything in front, rally & tackle; force long fields.
      • Win first down vs the run: set edges, clean fits from the backers, make 2nd/3rd long.
      • Disguise & deny: rotate late, mix man/zone on money downs, contest the intermediate windows.
      • Situational football: red-zone stand rate, third-and-medium pressure packages.
    • Ameer’s insights
      • Why RB rhythm dictates the whole offensive personality.
      • How Raiola can level up: pre-snap ownership, take the “profit” throws, use tempo as a weapon.
      • The leadership piece: how this locker room turns “good drive” into “seven points.”
    • Game-day checklist (read on air)
      1. Huskers: ≤2 sacks allowed
      2. Emmett Johnson: 20+ touches
      3. Explosive-play math: +2 (created minus allowed)
      4. Red-zone TD rate: ≥67%
      5. Takeaways: 1+
