Bitcoin BTC Intelligence Monday, August 31, 2026 MORNING

Checked at approximately 8:14 AM America/Chicago

    Today’s Highlights

Bitcoin is trading around $78.0K–$78.5K this morning. CoinDesk’s fresh market report had BTC near $78,091, about +0.5% over 24 hours, while its live market feed subsequently showed roughly $78.05K. Barron’s separately reported BTC around $78,545 this morning. Venue and snapshot differences account for the spread.

The most useful verified 24-hour range I found is approximately:

    High: ~$79.39K Low: ~$77.02K

An Alpaca-derived 24-hour dataset recorded $79,393.79 / $77,018.06, while broader daily data similarly show BTC falling from the upper-$79Ks toward the upper-$77Ks overnight.

The biggest development since Sunday evening is now confirmed, not speculative:

Strategy bought 4,603 BTC for approximately $369.7M.

Strategy’s own August 31 Form 8-K confirms the acquisition. CoinDesk reports an average acquisition price of $80,318 per BTC, raising Strategy’s holdings to:

    845,050 BTC

at an aggregate cost of about $63.73B and cumulative average cost of approximately $75,412/BTC.

This validates Michael Saylor’s Sunday “We’re Back” hint.

At the same time, the macro backdrop deteriorated overnight: renewed U.S.-Iran military strikes pushed Brent above $90, pressured global equities and bonds, while September Fed-hike probability sits around 58%–60% after Kevin Warsh’s hawkish Jackson Hole speech. Remarkably, BTC has remained near $78K despite that risk-off backdrop.

    ETF / Institutional Demand

The latest completed U.S. spot-BTC ETF session remains Friday, August 28:

    −$201.9M

    Farside confirms:

    IBIT −$33.4M FBTC $0 BITB −$49.7M ARKB −$114.9M HODL −$13.2M MSBT +$9.3M.

That ended the prior nine-session inflow streak.

    Monday August 31

Today's ETF session has not completed. At this MORNING run there is no legitimate final August 31 ETF total.

    Therefore:

“Monday ETFs are buying the dip” → not yet verified.

“Monday ETFs continue Friday’s outflows” → not yet verified.

This will be one of the most important pieces of data for the MIDDAY/EVENING reports.

Friday’s −$201.9M should also be kept in perspective against the roughly $3B accumulated during the preceding positive streak.

Strategy — Major Confirmed Institutional Catalyst

Sunday evening I classified Saylor’s message as an unconfirmed signal.

    That has materially changed.

    Strategy officially announced today:

    +4,603 BTC

    ~$369.7M purchase

    ~$80,318 average purchase price

    845,050 BTC total holdings

    ~$63.73B cumulative BTC cost

    ~$75,412 cumulative average price

  • Bitcoin Market Intelligence August 28, 2026 currently struggling to maintain a price above the $81,000 resistance level
    2026/08/28

Bitcoin is trading almost exactly at $80,000 this morning. CoinMarketCap’s fresh snapshot shows approximately $79,962, up 1.48% over 24 hours, with a 24-hour range of $78,744.85–$81,346.96. CoinDesk independently reports BTC reached roughly $81,455 overnight, its highest level since May, before pulling back below $80K.

    more @ : https://bitcoinintel.blogspot.com/

The most important change from Thursday evening is mixed but overall constructive: BTC made a higher high above $81.3K–$81.4K, but still has not established durable acceptance above $80K–$81K. The market is therefore continuing to absorb the major supply zone rather than decisively escaping it.

The strongest new fundamental confirmation is ETF demand. August 27 finalized at +$242.3M, creating a ninth consecutive positive U.S. spot-BTC ETF session. The streak from August 17 through August 27 now totals approximately:

    +$3.044 BILLION

Farside shows BlackRock IBIT at +$277.6M Thursday, offset partly by Fidelity FBTC at −$83.6M and GBTC at −$27.2M.

That means institutional demand continues even while BTC struggles with $80K–$82K resistance.

    ETF / Institutional Demand

    The verified streak is now:

    Session

    Net BTC ETF flow

    Aug. 17

    +$297.5M

    Aug. 18

    +$189.3M

    Aug. 19

    +$517.2M

    Aug. 20

    +$606.3M

    Aug. 21

    +$307.5M

    Aug. 24

    +$337.6M

    Aug. 25

    +$314.3M

    Aug. 26

    +$232.2M

    Aug. 27

    +$242.3M

    9-session total

    +$3.044B

Thursday’s flow is particularly interesting because it was not uniformly positive across issuers:

    IBIT +$277.6M ARKB +$29.7M BITB +$21.7M FBTC −$83.6M GBTC −$27.2M.

So the institutional bid remains powerful, but it is increasingly concentrated in BlackRock IBIT.

That is still bullish, but broad participation would be healthier than one product supplying most of the net demand.

August 28 flows are not available yet. Any “Friday ETF total” circulating this morning is necessarily incomplete.

    2026/08/27

Bitcoin is trading around $79.3K, up roughly 1.2%–1.3% over 24 hours on the freshest CoinDesk/CoinMarketCap readings. BTC traded back above $80K earlier this morning before slipping under it again; the rolling lower end is around $77.6K–$77.7K based on the latest completed session data.

more data on my blog : https://bitcoinintel.blogspot.com/

The most important improvement versus Wednesday evening is institutional confirmation: August 26 U.S. spot-BTC ETFs finalized at +$232.2M, giving Bitcoin ETFs eight consecutive positive sessions and about +$2.80B across the streak. Farside’s fund-level data show IBIT +$200.8M and FBTC +$25.6M, while GBTC had −$50.4M.

The second important positive is market quality. CoinDesk Research found that spot order-book depth remained unusually robust throughout the roughly 24%–25% rally. The 0.5% depth across major exchanges was about $9.6M when the rally began and still around $8.7M near $80K, supporting the conclusion that real capital was moving through a liquid market rather than a few orders pushing BTC through a thin book.

However, there is a new security development this morning: Core Lightning has issued an emergency warning after AI-generated security reports uncovered several real vulnerabilities. This affects Lightning Network software, not Bitcoin base-layer consensus, and no exploitation has yet been confirmed.

  • Bitcoin BTC Intelligence Wednesday, August 26, 2026 EVENING Chicago / Central Time
    2026/08/26

Bitcoin has stabilized after the midday weakness rather than breaking support. CoinMarketCap’s latest snapshot is about $78,441, +1.03% over 24 hours, with a 24-hour range of approximately $77,640–$79,241. A separate Bitfinex/Investing.com feed shows roughly $78,987, with today’s range $77,627–$79,270; the high/low readings line up closely, while the price difference reflects venue/timestamp variation.

The main change from the midday report is modestly positive technically: BTC tested approximately $77.6K, held it, and recovered toward the upper-$78Ks. It has not, however, reclaimed $80K, so this remains consolidation beneath confirmed resistance rather than renewed breakout momentum.

The strongest fundamental support remains institutional flows: August 25 finalized at +$314.3M, the seventh consecutive positive U.S. spot-BTC ETF session. Importantly, almost 90% of Tuesday’s inflow came through BlackRock IBIT, so the institutional bid is powerful but relatively concentrated.

The primary new negative is macro: July PCE inflation was 3.7% YoY versus 3.6% expected, the dollar strengthened, and September Fed-hike probability rose to about 40%.

Bitcoin is trading around $78.3K–$78.5K this morning. CoinMarketCap’s fresh snapshot shows approximately $78,279, down 0.83% over 24 hours, with a 24-hour low of $77,871 and high of $79,570. CoinDesk independently has BTC around $78.5K, down roughly 1%–1.2%.

The main change from Tuesday evening is continued consolidation below $80K rather than another breakout attempt. BTC has held above the upper-$77Ks, but momentum has cooled after the 23% seven-day rally. Profit-taking is visible across crypto, while BTC continues to hold up better than several major altcoins.

The strongest new confirmation this morning is ETF demand: August 25 finalized at +$314.3M, making seven consecutive positive U.S. spot-BTC ETF sessions. From August 17 through August 25, the verified Farside total is approximately +$2.57B.

That substantially strengthens the conclusion that the rally cannot be explained by liquidations alone.

Bitcoin BTC Intelligence Tuesday, August 25, 2026 morning .Today’s Highlights:

    https://bitcoinintel.blogspot.com/2026/08/bitcoin-btc-intelligence-tuesday-august.html

Bitcoin finally broke above $80,000 overnight, reaching a three-month high near $81,238, but it has since pulled back sharply toward $79.2K–$79.3K by this morning. CoinMarketCap currently shows about $79,302, +1.9% over 24 hours, with a 24-hour range of approximately $77,911–$81,235. Reuters independently confirmed the breakout and recorded BTC at $80,323 earlier in Asian trading after touching $81,237.94.

Bitcoin recently achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the $80,000 threshold, reaching a three-month peak before experiencing a slight price correction. This growth is underpinned by robust institutional demand, evidenced by over $2 billion in net inflows into U.S. spot ETFs over a six-day span. Despite the price surge, the market's technical structure appears stable as futures open interest has actually declined, suggesting the rally is driven by organic spot buying rather than excessive leverage. Analysts attribute the upward momentum to macroeconomic factors like a weakening dollar and shifts in U.S. political rhetoric regarding cryptocurrency regulation. While the network remains fundamentally healthy, experts warn that the asset is currently in overbought territory, making the reclamation of $80,000 as a support level critical for continued gains. Ultimately, the report highlights a shift toward a healthier market environment even as investors remain cautious of potential short-term volatility.

The most important change from last night is therefore significant:

$80K was broken, but it has not yet become support.

That is bullish progress, but the retracement back below $80K means this is not yet a clean breakout-and-hold confirmation.

A second important development is that Monday’s U.S. spot-BTC ETF data are now finalized. Farside reports +$337.6M on August 24, including +$208.9M into IBIT and +$104.6M into FBTC. That extends the recent positive flow streak and takes cumulative net inflows from August 17 through August 24 to roughly +$2.26B.

    BTC Intelligence — Monday, August 24, 2026 — EVENING

As of about 6:07 PM Chicago time, Bitcoin is near $78.9K, up roughly 1.6% over 24 hours. CoinMarketCap shows approximately $78,894, with a 24-hour low near $76,689 and high near $79,970. Reuters independently had BTC at $78,993, +2.05% earlier this afternoon.

    Today’s Highlights

The biggest development since the midday report is that BTC tested almost exactly $80,000 but did not establish acceptance above it. The 24-hour high is about $79,970, followed by a retreat back toward $78.9K. That is a genuine resistance test, not yet a confirmed breakout.

The second major development is derivatives quality. CoinDesk, citing CoinGlass, reports Bitcoin futures open interest has fallen from 762,000 BTC on August 18 to about 715,000 BTC, a two-month low, even while spot BTC rallied. Annualized funding across BTC and other majors is around 10%, described as bullish but not unusually overheated. This strengthens the case that last week’s surge contained real spot demand and short unwinding rather than simply new leveraged longs piling in.

  • Bitcoin BTC Intelligence Monday, August 24, 2026 MORNING edition
    2026/08/24

This report details Bitcoin’s market performance as of August 24, 2026, highlighting a price surge toward the $80,000 resistance level. The analysis emphasizes a healthy market structure, noting that the current rally is driven by spot buying and short covering rather than excessive leverage, as evidenced by falling open interest. While institutional demand remains high with nearly $2 billion in recent ETF inflows, the text clarifies that Strategy did not purchase additional Bitcoin last week but has built a $1.59 billion cash reserve for future opportunities. Macroeconomic factors like a weakening U.S. dollar and fiscal concerns are further supporting Bitcoin’s role as a hedge against currency debasement. Despite these bullish signals, the author maintains a degree of caution due to high Treasury yields and potential price rejection at major psychological barriers. Overall, the source provides a comprehensive overview of technical indicators, corporate movements, and macroeconomic trends shaping the cryptocurrency landscape.

CoinDesk's earlier Monday-morning reading had BTC around $77,800, describing it as consolidating following last week's extraordinary ~24% weekly advance. The difference versus the newer ~$79.1K reading is timing—the newer price indicates BTC has subsequently pushed back toward the critical $80K resistance zone.

This is stronger than Sunday's picture. Yesterday BTC was primarily defending the 75K–77K support area. This morning buyers have pushed price back toward $79K, putting the Friday ~$79.5K peak and $80K directly back into play.

    Most important new derivatives information

We finally have a useful fresh OI reading.

CoinDesk reports BTC futures open interest has fallen to about 715,000 BTC from 762,000 BTC on August 18, a two-month low, while BTC price has risen strongly.
