In this episode I speak with Bill West of Ellipsis Technologies. He talks about moving to Greenville to run a company with an expectation of staying onboard for 2 years...and he has never left! I asked his advice about raising money for a start-up company. He said the traditional first round of funding is usually your friends and family. This will allow you to evaluate your company concept. He talks about the importance of giving your employees equity in the company. He recommends providing this to as many people within the company as possible so that you are aligned with your shareholders.
