Welcome to June. Only four short months before October and about 3 ½ months before

haunt season begins. Haunters are busy working on their builds, designing new scenes,

or spending this weekend in Chicago at the Midwest Haunter’s Convention. The

(g)hosts are envious and wish they could be there, so if you’re attending MHC, be sure

to send us pictures. If you’re busy working on those new areas for your haunt, be sure

The Roundtable of Terror invites the man, the myth, the legend, Allen Hopps to discuss

his brand new project, the North American Cryptid Museum which will be located at

Dark Hour Haunted House in Plano, Texas. We discuss all the different cryptids that will

be featured, some special things that will be going on when you visit, and whether or not

his Mothman figure is built similarly to the one in Point Pleasant (If you know, you

know). If you enjoy learning about cryptids and local legends, then you might want to

make plans to visit. The North American Cryptid Museum opens for business on June

6th.

halfway point to Halloween, and many haunters are gearing up for the Midwest

Haunters Convention in Chicago and planning a few Summerween events. Meathook

Jim and Badger have both survived and returned from the Ohio Haunters Convention in

Mansfield and are bringing you lots of interviews from the show floor. It was certainly

one of the creepiest places to ever hold a convention and they’ve already announced

that they're returning in 2027 (so start making your plans).

As we celebrate the beginning of May, we officially move past the halfway point to

Halloween. In less than six months we’ll be enjoying the haunt season and all it has to

offer. Don’t think the (g)hosts aren’t aware of this and are already making plans for

spooky season. The day this show goes up, Meathook Jim and Badger will be at the

Ohio Haunters Convention in Mansfield and are hopefully gathering lots of interviews

and participating in other spooky stuff. Also, Badger was at the East Coast Haunters

Convention a couple weeks ago in Philadelphia and brings you plenty of interesting

interviews with haunt owners, vendors, and more. If you missed it, you’ll feel like you

The Roundtable of Terror invites a former guest back for a followup. Dr Susan

Weidmann of Appalachian State University has spent the past couple years doing

research on Haunted Attractions and we discuss her findings on how haunted

attractions tell stories and how to give the customer the best bang for their buck. She

hopes to begin presenting the data at tradeshows and conventions in the very near

future. It’s an interesting conversation that we hope you’ll enjoy.
