Ashwasen, son of snake king Takshak was the first to escape. Mayaasur, the engineer and architect of the king of daitys, was trying to run away from the inferno. Krishn saw him and was about to kill him. Mayaasur saw Arjun and rushed to Arjun with an appeal to save his life. Arjun obliged him and took him under his protection. Rushi Mandpaal had given birth to four sons, with a female bird named Jaritaa. These four sons were also rushis. Rushi Mandpaal prayed to Agni Dev to save his sons.
