Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said on 20 August that the first Indonesia International Financial Centre, or PFII, will be in Jakarta, while Bali is still under evaluation. He said a potential Bali location is being considered on land belonging to sovereign investment body Danantara.

That is more cautious than earlier comments from Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, who had described Bali as a future location requiring physical infrastructure before implementation.
