In this episode, we look at the deep fundamental baptist belief we were raised on, and how it came out of the cultural upheaval of the late 1960s and 1970s. As thousands of young Americans abandoned traditional institutions in search of meaning, community, spirituality, and purpose, the Jesus Movement emerged as a powerful alternative. While some seekers turned toward Eastern religions, communes, or psychedelic exploration, others found answers in Christianity.

Drawing from an engineering mindset and a desire to explain life through a coherent biblical framework, our pastor developed a comprehensive system designed to answer humanity’s biggest questions: What is reality? What is the nature of man? Why do we suffer? What is our purpose? How do we find God? What happens after death?

We explore how these concepts provided certainty, identity, and meaning to a generation hungry for answers, and how the movement fit into the broader story of the Jesus Movement, intentional communities, and the search for ultimate truth.

Rather than dismissing the movement as mere religious indoctrination or celebrating it uncritically, we examine the historical, cultural, and psychological forces that made these concepts so compelling—and why its influence continues to be felt decades later.
