- The NOAA registry had a data-migration error from spring 2018 that left the beacon registered to Victor Crane and Osprey Bay.
- Nancy Adams found the orange EPIRB blinking at 04:17 on July 14, 2019, on County Road Seven in Dellard County, 31 miles inland from the nearest coastline.
- The coast guard received the beacon’s signal identifying Osprey Bay in its slip at Palafox Pier, leading to the classification of the alert as a false alarm.
