You guys, it's the last episode of this series and the last episode for the summer! We hate to see this series come to an end, but love ending it with some ways we can practically apply all we've learned into our daily lives. We hope you enjoy this episode, and would love your feedback! What topics or themes would you like to hear us discuss? Drop us a line and let us know!

Here are the practical application items we discussed in this episode:

    MIV TRANSLATIONS

Jehovah Jireh: God saw to it that all He spoke to me over all these years came to pass. And all that hasn’t, just hasn’t YET. (Genesis 22:14)

Jehovah Nissi: God won this war, right here on this day. The victory is because of Him. (Exodus 17:15)

    PRACTICAL APPLICATION

    1. Start a Names of God journal. Even though we all have different ways we journal, I think having one specific for the names of God is a great way to intentionally acknowledge that we have seen God work in so many ways. Dedicate it to marking moments God clearly answers prayer, moves mightily, or other times you feel it’s important to pause and acknowledge this moment in time.

    • What names are you ascribing to Him or would you have based on events in the past?
    • Is it one from the existing list we see in the Bible?
    • Or is it a new one, personal to just you?

    2. Jireh: What are the I Will’s God has spoken to you in your life? What are the ones He has already answered and completed, and what are the ones you are still waiting for? Go ahead and make a list. Mark the ones where He brought it to pass and note the details of how He did it. This kind of reflection will do two things:

    • It will help you remember that God has actively worked in your life in the past, and He still is, and He still will again.
    • It will help you see the places where maybe He has brought an answer or resolution, but you just didn’t see it before.

    3. Jireh: Where are you straddling the line of belief and unbelief, like Abraham might have when offering up Isaac? I think it’s important to be honest with ourselves about this—one, so we can see where our foundation needs to be shored up. Two, so we can open ourselves up to the possibility we heard wrong or misunderstood. Three, so we can have our eyes peeled in anticipation of when He might answer.

    • Where are the places you need God to see you?
    • Where are the places you’re waiting for God to see to it?

    4. Nissi: Journal or make a list of the times you could build an altar and say The Lord is My Banner. What victories did He provide while you worked with him? We forget to build altars sometimes. Heck, sometimes we even forget to just say thank you. Go back and make a timeline of events and times when you knew without a doubt there would not have been victory had it not been for God’s help.

    • Make a kind of altar/banner based on one that is most transformational for you

    5. Do you think of God as your “Abba, Father?”

    6. What would calling God “Abba” feel like to you?

    7. Create a vision in your mind of what going to God in prayer would look like if you approached him as “Abba, Father”. And then when you go to prayer to Him with a posture that He is your Papa, use this vision to help the senses come alive for y

  • #254-Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nissi & Abba Father
    2025/05/12

Send us a text, and leave your number or email so we can get back to you :)

We've got three more names of God for you, and we're packing them all into this episode! This week Tracy breaks down God our Healer; Monica discusses God our Banner; Sara explores God our Father.

JEHOVAH RAPHA: God is our Healer and He heals everything. Our bodies. Our souls. Creation. He heals the sick, the brokenhearted and the sinful. We can be healed because Jesus took our sin, pain, disease and brokenness upon himself.

JEHOVAH NISSI: A banner is something lifted up, a sign. In ancient day battles, opposing nations would fly their own flag on a pole at each end of their front lines. This was to give their soldiers a feeling of hope and a focal point. This is what God is to us—a banner of encouragement to give us hope and a focal point.

ABBA FATHER: Of all the names of God, none is more intimate than the one Jesus himself gave God, Abba, Father. In this episode, Sara dives into how coming to know God as her Abba or PaPa has been new to her, but so beautiful.

  • #253-Jehovah Shalom (Names of God Series)
    2025/04/28

Send us a text, and leave your number or email so we can get back to you :)

Who wouldn’t want a little soundness, completeness, harmony, and the absence of strife in their lives?? This week, Sara uncovers who can give us those very things, Jehovah Shalom or God of Peace. Listen in and learn how to receive the Peace that passes all understanding!

Shalom experienced is multidimensional and complete well-being — physical, psychological, social, and spiritual; it flows from all of one’s relationships being put right — with God, with(in) oneself, and with others.

Only God can create shalom (Isaiah 45:7), and this gift will come through the work of the Messiah, the Prince of shalom (Isaiah 9:6–7). Therefore, shalom is perhaps the most basic characteristic of the future kingdom of God, a time when the Lord himself comes to heal all that is wrong with the world.

Breathing Exercise—breathe each for 4 counts:

    • Breathe in Yahweh

    • Breathe out Shalom

  • #252-Jehovah Rohi: The Lord Our Shepherd (Names of God Series)
    2025/04/14

Send us a text, and leave your number or email so we can get back to you :)

We continue our names of God series this week with Tracy teaching us all about Jehovah Rohi--the Lord our Shepherd! Through the illustration of God being our Shepherd, we see how God tenderly takes care to provide, guide and protect us:

    1. A shepherd represents a more close and intimate relationship.
    2. If the Lord is our Shepherd, that makes us sheep and prone to wander.
    3. “I shall not want," meaning not only can God take care of my physical needs, but that He can also fulfill me and satisfy my heart.
    4. “I shall not want” while walking through the valley of the shadow of death.
    5. We can trust God has us here for a reason.

  • #250-Being Rooted
    2025/03/17

Send us a text, and leave your number or email so we can get back to you :)

It's time to Be Rooted! Be Rooted is a new episode we'll be doing at the conclusion of every series, where we focus on what we've learned and discussed over the past few weeks and apply it into our daily lives. Tracy will be coming to you From the Couch, with the counselor's perspective. Sara will come to you with The Playbook, from a coach's perspective. And Monica will have the writer's approach and her MIV translations. We hope you enjoy this new format!

    FROM THE COUCH:

    1. Become curious about your body:

    • Notice your aches and pains, the tension in your neck.
    • What is my body trying to tell me?
    • If I feel any pain, what is my body communicating to me?
    • Do I need rest? Do I need to see a doctor?
    • Am I holding onto something from my past, creating tension?
    • Am I fearful or worried about something causing stress in my body?
    • What does God offer me in my bodily pain: miracle, medical help or maintenance (self-care)?

    2. Become curious about your thoughts:

    • Where did this thought come from?
    • Does this thought line up with Gods Word?
    • Holy curiosity about our thoughts leads us to search out Gods Word.
    • How can I speak graciously to myself?
    • By speaking over myself what God says about me in His Word!

    3. Become curious about your feelings:

    • Why am I resistant to coming to God and being still in God?
    • Why am I feeling angry? Have I crossed my boundaries or did someone else cross them?
    • What is God inviting you to this year?

    THE PLAYBOOK:

    1. What does stillness look like in your life?
    2. What are you saying yes to that is non-negotiable?
    3. What are you saying yes to that is negotiable?
    4. What of your “yes’s” is out of calling and obedience to God, or from a posture of guilt or selfishness?
    5. Who are you?
    6. Who do you want to be?
    7. How are you going to get there?

    MIV:

    1. Where do you want freedom? It could be freedom from an addiction, a mentality, a belief. Find one Bible verse that will help you seek freedom in that area and post it everywhere you can. Make yourself a phone lock screen so you always see it. Know God desires freedom for that area for you too!
    2. What is your story of freedom? If you’re a believer in Jesus, you already have found freedom. Spend some time journaling out your story of freedom, taking special note of the ways God worked in and through your life to make you free. Sometimes we need to remember how He provided in the past in order to trust Him for today.
    3. What do you want your next story of freedom to look like? Who do you imagine when you envision yourself free from fill in the blank. We all have a mental image of the woman we hope to become in our minds eye. Note how she carries herself, how she speaks and moves and prays and worships. Pray God would gently remind you in the moments you’re not moving towards that picture of freedom so you can course correct.
    4. Remember: we’re not seeking perfection. It’s not possible, plausible or attainable. But we are seeking better.

  • #249-Still Being Free
    2025/03/03

Send us a text, and leave your number or email so we can get back to you :)

We've revisited what it's meant to be still after 11 years since the first episode, and now it's time to revisit what it means to be free. If you're eager for a good chuckle, listen to the original be free episode here!

In this week's episode, Monica shares insight on what walking in freedom looks like and scripture that encourages us to find freedom and stay rooted in freedom. She also reveals where she needed freedom all those years ago and how she's grown since then...but also where she is still needing to grow and find freedom today. It's a vulnerable episode but hopefully one that resonates with some of you listening.

While there are no set formulas for freedom, Monica does share five steps that will guide you into intentionally walking in the direction of it:

    1. Be Still. Abide, remain, dwell, continue to be in Jesus.
    2. Get to Know Him. Know Him intimately—who He is, His character, His affection toward you, His promises for you. Read the Word to get to know Him.
    3. Memorize Truth. What is the truth of what God says? Not how you feel, or how your past choices or current circumstances might lead you to believe—but the actual truth.
    4. Elevate Your Ideas. We have to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. When we choose to think on the things listed in Philippians 4:8, we recreate neuro-pathways and literally and actually renew and transform our minds.
    5. Stand Firm and Be Steadfast. Refuse to allow old bondages to slide back on. Stay resolute in your mindsets and actions to receive freedom and then walk in it. Refuse to listen to the old voices of shame and guilt that would convince you you haven’t been forgiven or can't be used by Him.

  • #248-Still Being Still
    2025/02/17

Send us a text, and leave your number or email so we can get back to you :)

It's been over 11 years since we launched Be Still Be Free, and our first full episode was on what it meant to be still. Since our refresh and relaunch, we thought it would be beneficial to revisit our first couple of episodes and ask ourselves: Is what we originally believed about being still still true? What is different? And more importantly, how have we grown?

In this week's episode, Sara walks us through Psalm 46:10 and Exodus 14:14, giving us a re-introduction to stillness. Then we dive deeper into discussion about how we view stillness now, how we pursue it, and how necessary it remains for our daily life.

Sara challenges us with the question: What does stillness look like in your life? She gives us five areas to evaluate:

    1. Relationships
    2. Finances
    3. Work
    4. Spiritual Life
    5. Self-care

    She then asks unto consider:

    • Who are you?
    • Who do you want to be?
    • How are you going to get there?

Here are the resources she recommends:
