In the episode 2 of our Olympic Series, I sit down with Olympic gold medalist Kristin Luckenbill, former goalkeeper for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and a pioneer in the early years of professional women’s soccer.
In this episode, Kristin shares the unexpected path that led her from a multi-sport athlete and Dartmouth soccer player to the Olympic stage, including helping launch the first professional women’s soccer league.
We talk about the mindset required to compete at the highest level, the intensity of the Olympic selection process, and what it truly felt like to represent the United States at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Kristin also shares the powerful team culture and belief that helped the U.S. Women’s National Team come together to win gold.
