このコンテンツについて
Episode 120 is a wild ride, starting with the heavy rains that brought Bangalore to a standstill! We then immediately get sidetracked by the new video from Boston Dynamics, "New in Spot & Orbit 5.5." Our conversation quickly escalates into a passionate (and slightly terrified) discussion about the progress of robotics in the restaurant business – a topic that inevitably leads to the chilling thought: are these robotic dogs going to rise up?!
We then pivot to how Apple, through its manufacturing in China, may have inadvertently helped train Chinese expertise in building iPhones, which we argue are essentially "smartphones on wheels" (i.e., EVs), with potential defense applications like drones. We reference Patrick McGee's insightful "Apple in China."
As usual, our minds wander, and we touch upon the critical issue of drinking water availability in both Mexico and India. Finally, we tackle the elephant in the room: what do we do with the millions of people who will lose their jobs to AI? Should we be addressing this massive societal shift before the gap becomes so large it causes widespread unrest? Tune in for a sprawling, slightly manic, and deeply relevant conversation!
