概要
Host Rafael "Ray" Collazo reflects on receiving the INDEPENDENT MEDIA VANGUARD AWARD at the annual Brown and Bougie Brunch held in Washington, DC during the White House Correspondents' Dinner Weekend. Brown and Bougie celebrates the accomplishments of Latino journalists in News and Politics. Collazo was honored for advancing innovative Latino media and expanding access to trusted information through leadership, storytelling and civic engagement that empowers our communities.
Collazo shared why he dedicated the award to his sons and the biggest lesson he wanted to highlight during this incredible milestone moment during his 13 years of podcasting.
Collazo also shares commentary on the incident at the WHCD and the firing of one of the most celebrated Puerto Rican men in our society.
Collazo again thanks Chuck Rocha, Daysi Gonzalez and the Solidarity Strategies team for honoring him at this years' Brown and Bougie Brunch. Also, huge shoutout to the other honorees: Arelis Hernandez from the Washington Post and Nick Valencia of Nick Valencia News.
