Hey listeners, we're BMP and we're here with another podcast featuring a member of the art community, AK.

AK is and has been an artist in Buffalo since 2011 and is excited to continue the journey with a tattoo apprenticeship! It's a tough job, but AK is the one to do it.

Speaking of the journey towards what could be a career, or maybe more like a lifestyle, AK talked about coming to Buffalo from school and getting involved in the art communities. Names are mentioned, like Biff Bifero of Nervous Tick and the Zipper Lips, who provided index cards for a much-needed owl drawing, and more.

Feel free to give this pod a listen and tell your friends. We're cataloguing all the great parts of being in Buffalo and being a part of its community. Thanks for listening.

Caitlin Steitzer is the founder of Good Practice Therapy and, in another life, was a social worker living in New York City during the pandemic.

After visiting the City of Good Neighbors, she and her partner moved here with the heavy conviction that it was "not just the mushrooms" and they really liked it in Buffalo.

Caitlin talked to us about anti-capitalism therapy, musical improvs, and the act of creation as a therapy tool. She said she really likes it in Buffalo and looks forward to meeting more folks here. Listen to the interview on BMP.

  • BMP (Buffalo Music Players) BREAKING EPISODE: Justin Karcher
    2025/12/11

Hear ye! Hear ye! "Concrete Christmas" to be shown at American Repertory Theater of WNY on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and part of that multi-storied performance is a short play called "No Kings" by poet and playwright Justin Karcher.

Justin talked about his life in words as part of the literary scene in Buffalo. He shares some ideas about the scene, train robberies and the role of the artist in these tumultuous times.

Always a pleasure to talk to, you might catch Justin at Caffe Aroma on Bidwell and Elmwood while hosting a poetry open mic, or at Curtain Up, the Arties or any other theater engagement in Buffalo that draws him in. It was a pleasure to speak to someone so part of Buffalo and its artists.

We had Ferrell at our studios just a few days ago and had a great talk about the comedy scene, as well as an in depth look at this comedian's background and drive. As verified by Benjamin Joe and Max Fisher, WT has the performance bug and takes time out of his work and family life to make people laugh.

He'll be at the Kerns Avenue Bowling Alley on Sunday, Dec. 7 and anyone who wants to laugh should be there too! 8 p.m. sharp. We'll see you there.
