  • Questioning the Rapture
    2026/02/10

In this episode, Dan and Scott tackle a topic that is asked more than any other, the Rapture.

Basically, the idea of a Rapture is that Jesus will return to earth to gather His followers and take them out of this world. The claim is that Jesus does this to spare His followers the tribulation which many believe is yet to come.

Dan and Scott, along with many other theologians, do not agree with Rapture theology though. Rapture does appear in scripture, but not in the context that many believe. They will overview Matthew 13, Jesus' own teaching that contradicts this common teaching. They will also explain how rapture is used in scripture and cite multiple articles and websites to help.

Finally, to speak on the subject of tribulation in today's world, they bring up organizations like Voice of the Martyrs who clearly depict God's people being attacked today.

So join us as we walk through the discussion!

  • Dealing with Depression and Anxiety
    2026/02/05

Scott and Dan have a discussion about how the church has handled and should handle depression and anxiety.

Neither Scott nor Dan are health care professionals and we approach this from a Biblical and Spiritual viewpoint.

If you are struggling with depression and/or anxiety seek professional medical help immediately. Below you will find a list of resources to consult in help with this illness that affects so many.

We believe that God can heal depression and anxiety, just like he can heal cancer, diabetes and any disease or illness. We also understand that God uses medicine, therapy and treatment to heal. We should use the resources available to us to receive the help and care we need.

    Resources from this episode:

    - 988 is the National Suicide and Crisis hotline. If you or someone you know is going through a difficult time, do not hesitate to call this number.

    - Your doctor or health care professional is your first resource to receiving medical help for depression and anxiety. Talk to them about your problems and ask for a reference for help. That's what they are there for.

    - Dan referenced an article that is worth a read, especially if you are seeking to help others from a Christian point of view. Here is the link for that article - https://cfc.sebts.edu/faith-and-medicine/mental-illness-in-the-church-4-common-mistakes-to-avoid/

    - The National Network of Depression Centers has an impressive list of resources available on their website. Here is that link: https://nndc.org/resource-links/

    - This is a link to therapists in an area. Just enter your zip code into the search and a list appears. Scroll through that list to make contact with a therapist and keep looking until you find one that can help you. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists?search=28560

    - Finally, if you reach out to Dan or Scott, we will help you get pointed in the right direction. We have both made plenty of mistakes and have learned much in helping people. We are great at prayer, biblical advise and wisdom, but we will refer you to a medical professional to continue an approach that deals with your depression physically as well as spiritually.

There is help. You are not alone. Jesus is the hope, even in the darkness of illness, Jesus is our hope.

Isaiah 40:28-31; John 16:33; Psalm 31:24; Job 3:11-13; Galatians 6:2 and John 13:34 were all referenced in some way during this podcast.
