  • The Great Splashy Battle
    2026/06/16
Sometimes the teammate who seems least important can surprise everyone, and games are funniest when everyone stays kind and laughs together. In Hedgehogtown, behind Mrs. Patterson's garden shed, there was a sign stuck in the dirt. Chip had written it in big muddy letters. "WELCOME TO THE GREAT SPLASHY BATTLE." Chuck stood beside the sign with a cabbage leaf tied around his head like a helmet. Chuck looked very proud. Chewy stood beside…

  • Chip Chuck and Chewy Visit the Fire Station
    2026/06/11
Chip, Chuck, and Chewy visit the Hedgehogtown fire station for a morning tour led by the kind and patient Chief Bramble. Despite their very best intentions and one very thorough preparation list, the three hedgehogs manage to helmet a soup pot, unravel a fire hose across the entire station floor, and accidentally slide down the fire pole together. But when a tiny meep from inside a cabinet leads them to Marmalade the missing kitten, Chewy gets to do something only a very small hedgehog can do. A warm and funny story about why listening comes before helping. In Hedgehogtown, there was a fire station with shiny red doors, bright silver ladders, and a bell so big it looked as if it could ring the moon right out of the sky. Chip had wanted to visit it for ages. "Today is the day," Chip said, marching across Mrs. Patterson's garden with a leaf tucked under…

  • Stella and the Sky Voyage Home
    2026/06/02
Chewy spots a large white bird circling the hidden glen — and it turns out to be Stella the Stork, who offers to fly the S.S. Recycling Bin and its crew all the way home to Hedgehogtown. There's just one problem: the boat is absolutely, hopelessly overloaded. Chuck must bid a tearful farewell to Sir Quacksworthy the rubber duck, a premium flat sitting-stone, and one-and-a-half loaves of bread before Stella can get airborne. The hedgehogs soar over meadows, church steeples, and the rapids they sailed through at the start of their adventure, before landing safely in Mrs. Patterson's garden — right beside the smug duck who never left. Over the last of Boom's s'mores, Mrs. Patterson sums it all up perfectly: adventures find you more friends than you set out looking for. High above the hidden glen, something large and white was circling. Chewy noticed it first. He was hanging upside down from Boom the bear's favourite branch — which he had climbed by mistake, thinking it was a very tall stick — when he saw the enormous wings cutting slow loops through the bright…

  • The Bear in the Hidden Glen
    2026/05/28
Chip navigates the S.S. Recycling Bin far downstream to a beautiful hidden glen, where the three hedgehogs meet Boom — a huge, gentle bear with small glasses who is an expert at making s'mores. Chewy drops his marshmallow into the fire three times before Boom helps him get it perfectly golden-brown. Chuck takes one bite of a s'more and declares it the best moment of his life. The trio camps under a sky full of stars while Boom tells bedtime stories, and in the morning they set off loaded with a camping blanket, roasting sticks, and leftover s'mores. The boat is sitting very low in the water, Hedgehogtown is very far away — and Chewy has just spotted something large and white circling overhead. The river had been winding for a very long time. Past the mossy stone bridge. Past the old mill with the squeaky wheel. Past the place where three ducks sat in a row on a log, all staring at the S.S. Recycling Bin as if they had never seen a boat made from old bottles and a wobbly plank before.…

  • The Grand Riverbank Picnic
    2026/05/26
The crew of the S.S. Recycling Bin pulls ashore for a picnic beneath a willow tree — only to discover the riverbank is already booked. General Crumb and her ant colony have been planning their own thirty-seven-course picnic since Tuesday. With military precision on one side and cheerful hedgehog chaos on the other (including Chewy sitting on a freshly built twig bench), the two very different groups somehow share the afternoon and end up making unlikely new friends. The S.S. Recycling Bin was, without question, the most magnificent vessel ever to sail a river. At least, that is what Chuck said every single morning. It was also, without question, the most overloaded vessel ever to sail a river. There were three loaves of bread from Mr. Bumberton's bakery. There…

  • The Floating Grocery Store
    2026/05/21
The S.S. Recycling Bin sets off on a sailing trip through Hedgehogtown — but Chuck keeps spotting things they simply cannot do without. A terracotta flowerpot for storage, a rubber duck for emergencies, a flat stone for sitting, a garden hose for practically everything, and three warm loaves of bread from Mr. Bumberton's bakery. Each new addition sits the boat a little lower in the water, until the rim is barely a hedgehog-finger above the surface. Somehow, impossibly, it floats. And from his perch on top of the whole glorious pile, Chewy spots something far down the river — somewhere they've never been. With his map unrolled, Chip points them straight toward it. The S.S. Recycling Bin had never looked better. Its tree-sap patch was dry and firm, Chip's hand-drawn map was rolled up and tucked neatly under the bow, and the sun was doing that lovely warm thing it does when it wants everyone to go on an adventure. "Cast off!" called Chip, which is the very…

  • The S.S. Recycling Bin Sets Sail (For Real This Time)
    2026/05/19
The morning after the S.S. Recycling Bin's triumphant launch, the crew of three discover a very inconvenient leak. Luckily, Chuck spots something golden and gloopy on the old oak tree — tree sap, sticky and waterproof and absolutely perfect. With the hull patched, Chip unfolds his hand-drawn map and leads the crew downstream on their first real voyage: past the mossy stone fork, through a stomach-dropping stretch of rapids, and all the way to beautiful Pebble Bend. Along the way, each hedgehog discovers what they're best at — Chuck's gift for noticing things, Chip's talent for navigation, and Chewy's unmatchable ability to make everything feel like the best day ever. It was the morning after the greatest achievement in Hedgehogtown history. The S.S. Recycling Bin — built from bottles, a wobbly plank, orange string, and pure determination — was tied to the edge of Mrs. Patterson's pond. It had floated. It had actually, genuinely floated. And somewhere in the…

  • The S.S. Recycling Bin
    2026/05/14
It's a perfectly ordinary Tuesday in Hedgehogtown — until Chip, Chuck, and Chewy spot a very smug duck on Mrs. Patterson's pond and decide they absolutely need a boat. Using bottles, string, a wobbly plank, and a tin of blue paint, the three friends set to work. Chewy manages to turn himself entirely blue, ties himself to the boat with orange string, and launches himself into the apple tree before construction is even finished. But with encouragement from Mrs. Patterson and a lot of determination, the S.S. Recycling Bin finally hits the water — and floats! The crew paddles in happy circles, the smug duck looks confused, and Chewy falls overboard with great enthusiasm. Nobody notices the tiny trickle of water creeping in at the bottom. Afloat, as Mrs. Patterson says, is afloat. It was a perfectly ordinary Tuesday morning in Hedgehogtown. The sun was warm. The birds were singing. And a duck — a very, very smug duck — was floating on Mrs. Patterson's backyard pond as if he owned the whole place. Chip saw the duck first. He put his little paws on his hips and stared. "That…
