Jesus did not play it safe or protect His reputation. He walked straight into the home of Levi, a despised tax collector, and sat down to eat with him and his friends. In doing so, He made it clear that His grace is not reserved for the respectable or the put-together. He came for the broken, the outcast, and the ones that polite society had already written off. Transformation does not begin with perfection. It begins with presence. The church was never meant to be a gated community for saints. It was meant to be an open table where sinners, doubters, seekers, and saints all sit side by side. Grace does not wait for people to have their lives together, and neither should we.
