  • At The Kitchen Table: Gretchen Rehm
    2025/10/02

Amanda sits down with longtime friend and advisor Gretchen Rehm (Rehm Financial) for a refreshingly human conversation about money, insurance, and building a small business that truly serves people. Gretchen shares her unexpected path from college soccer and sports marketing to launching a thriving insurance and advisory firm in southern Minnesota.

You’ll hear a simple breakdown of term vs. permanent life insurance, why the #1 mistake is not acting (start with your 401(k)/403(b) employer match), and how “show up” became her north star through tough claims, market swings, and rising premiums. We also go inside the realities of running a lean five-person team with her husband—protecting culture, hiring slowly, profit-sharing, and dividing roles by strengths.

The episode closes with Gretchen’s open and moving adoption journey—proof that gratitude and family can drive a career for decades. If you’ve put off a money move or felt overwhelmed by jargon, this one’s for you.

Takeaways: Start now. Capture the employer match. Keep coverage simple. Serve with presence. Hire to your strengths. Protect team culture. Lead with gratitude.
