This is a podcast that takes a nomadic approach to exploring the layered world of art and creativity. Through these conversations, we gain a better understanding of the artist’s mindset and how creative people insert themselves into culture. I do this because, if you understand how an artist thinks, it changes how you see the world. How you create. How you look at everyday objects. How you approach your own work. Art Nomad doesn’t focus on portfolios or accolades (we have LinkedIn for that). Instead, it favors humanity, the creative mind, and the tools that help forge new pathways through our rapidly culture. I’m your host, Eric. I’m a lover of art, a maker of art, and a lifelong nomad. I was raised in a commune where we wore silver dollars around our necks, shaved our heads, and sat in circles yelling at each other—which was apparently considered therapy. The commune will inevitably make its way into these conversations, partly because an unusual number of creative people came out of it… and I’ll be talking to a few of them. But enough about me. This podcast is really about my guests—and you. And for both of you, I want to create something different. Not just another interview show about art, but something more interactive, unpredictable, and alive. I want to bend the format a bit, maybe even break it. To experiment with guests in real time, uncover unexpected connections, and create moments that couldn’t have happened anywhere else. Each episode is built around a theme shaped by the guest’s creative DNA. Through research and conversation, I look for the ideas, experiences, obsessions, and contradictions that define how they think and create—and use those as the foundation for the episode. If you’re looking for creative inspiration, new ways of thinking, tools for navigating this wild world more creatively, or simply a deeper understanding of your own imagination—then this is a podcast you’ll probably enjoy. New episodes launch every two weeks. • Art Nomad 0004: FACE with Erica Elias
    2026/07/14

Here we're wondering the world in search of art that helps us see things differently. Hunting for anything that might open our eyes to the underbelly of culture and creativity. In a way it's a journey that will never end.

This week's theme is FACES and I'll tell you right now, I could do 100 episodes on this topic...it's a thick and juicy theme with content that runneth over. I'm sure that as we continue this Nomadic journey, we will cross paths with FACES again because I've had to leave so many topics and stories in pixel purgatory this time around.

My guest this week is Erica Elias. She is a self taught artist living in Belgium, and in a way faces found her. Once they found their way into Erica's work, they took up residency and have been there ever since, becoming a vessel for conveying emotions and human truths.

  • Art Nomad 0003: RAW with Gary Copeland
    2026/06/30

My guest is Gary Copeland—writer, poet, photographer, and boxer. Gary embodies RAW: unfiltered, honest, emotionally direct. But what makes him invaluable is that he doesn't keep it to himself. In this episode, Gary shares raw advice on getting started creatively and why living authentically might be the most important creative practice of all.

  • Art Nomad 0002: PLAY with Elisabeth Condon
    2026/06/16

Welcome to Art Nomad, a podcast that wanders the world of art and creativity with those making it. Each conversation offers a window into the minds of today's artists and thinkers—sharing the stories, ideas, and decisions shaping contemporary culture, while opening up new ways to think about your own creative path.

This week's theme is PLAY, and my guest is artist Elisabeth Condon. She was smoking cigarettes before she could light a match, which might surprise you given her strict Christian Science upbringing. She also didn't speak a word until she was four years old, while most children begin talking around age one.

Instead of speaking, Elisabeth retreated into an imaginary world shared with her dolls—a world that profoundly shaped both her life and her artistic practice.

Join us as we explore the role of PLAY in creativity, and why it may be one of the most powerful tools we have for discovering new ideas, new perspectives, and new possibilities.
