概要

Spooky Stories From the Mountains

Appalachian Tomes is a storytelling podcast that dives deep into the myths, legends, and eerie folklore of the Appalachian region. These mountains have always carried an air of mystery—where superstition and history intertwine, and every hollow and ridgeline has a story waiting to be told.

Each episode unearths a tale rooted in Appalachian culture—ghost stories, cautionary legends, strange creatures, and whispered accounts passed down through generations. With a balance of atmospheric storytelling and cultural insight, Appalachian Tomes captures both the chills of the supernatural and the richness of mountain traditions.

Thoughtful narration with an immersive, eerie mood.

Respectful to Appalachian heritage while embracing the spookier side of folklore.

Designed for late-night listening—headphones on, lights low.

Because the Appalachians aren’t just mountains—they’re a vault of living folklore. Every story is a reminder of how myth, fear, and wonder shape the way people understand the world around them.

I escaped. I made it home.

But now no one remembers me. My family doesn’t know my name. My girlfriend swears I never existed. And every mirror I pass feels like it’s waiting for me to step back inside.

This recording is the only proof I was ever here.

They say she roamed the high ridges, her skin hard as granite and her finger honed to a blade. Spearfinger, the witch of Cherokee legend, hunted children for their hearts and vanished into the fog before dawn. Her voice could mimic your mother’s. Her shadow could follow you home.

But legends like hers don’t die—they wait. And in these mountains, when the wind scrapes against the stone just right, you can still hear her calling your name.
