A year later, we revisit our thoughts on the approach to generative AI use in the classroom. Research on the impacts of generative AI use is mixed; some studies find it has negative effects on student thinking skills, while others find it can improve student learning. We discuss potential impacts on critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while sharing ideas for approaching the topic in the classroom.
