Thomas Cole is the Director of the Center forSpiritual Direction at Congregation Beth Israel in Houston and EmeritusProfessor at the McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics at McGovern MedicalSchool. His books and films include The Journey of Life, OldMan Country, and the award-winning documentary The Strange Demise of Jim Crow. Dr. Cole’s research and films have been featured by The New York Times, NPR, PBS, and even the United Nations. In recent years, his journey has turned deeply spiritual—integrating mindfulness, prayer, and compassion into his work as a Spiritual Director. He’s currently writing a spiritual memoir titled My Journey to the Angels: Toward a Spiritual Renewal.
