Hello, and welcome. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here. It's early Wednesday morning, that particular kind of early where the world is still quiet but your mind might already be spinning through the day ahead. Maybe you've got a lot on your plate, or maybe you're just feeling that underlying hum of tension that comes from trying to hold it all together. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that taking this time for yourself right now is exactly what you need. Let's settle in together. Find a comfortable place where you can sit or lie down, somewhere that feels safe. You don't need to be perfect about this. Your couch is just as good as a meditation cushion. Go ahead and get comfortable. As you do, let your shoulders drop away from your ears. They've probably been camping up there without you even noticing. Now, let's begin with your breath. I want you to breathe in through your nose for a count of four, feeling the air move through your nostrils, cool and fresh. Hold it for a moment. Then exhale slowly through your mouth, like you're fogging a mirror. Do that again. In for four, and out with intention. One more time. Notice how your body already feels a little heavier, a little more settled. Here's what we're going to explore today. I call it the anchor and release technique. It's simple, but it works like magic. As you breathe, I want you to imagine that with each exhale, you're releasing something. Not fighting it, not pushing it away, just letting it float downstream like a leaf on a river. Your worry about that email? Downstream. Your tension about what's next? Downstream. That nagging thought about something you should have done differently? Downstream. Here's the trick that makes this work: you're not trying to force relaxation. You're not gripping it like a fist. You're simply inviting it by getting out of your own way. With each exhale, just let go. With each inhale, imagine you're breathing in something nourishing. Maybe it's calm, maybe it's possibility, maybe it's just the simple gift of being alive right now. Keep this rhythm going. Feel your body getting heavier, softer. There's nothing you need to do or be right now except breathe. As we begin to close, I want you to know that this feeling you've created here, this sense of ease, it doesn't have to disappear when you open your eyes. Carry it with you. When things get tense today, come back to that downstream imagery. One conscious exhale can reset your whole nervous system. Thank you so much for spending this time with me. I hope you'll subscribe so we can do this again soon. You deserve this peace. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
