The Nobleman goes home and finds that his son is indeed recovering. Death no longer has hold of him. This week we see that the Nobleman truly believes in Jesus. He and his whole household. He believes in the person of Jesus. It was a progression of faith. From Jesus needing to come with him (Physical presence) then to believe in the power of Jesus to heal at His word and finally today that Jesus became real to him as his saviour. He believed in the person of Jesus.

The Nobleman had to come to terms with the very challenging words that Jesus spoke to Him. "Go your way, your Son lives." What if he goes and heads back and his wife says to him that nothing has changed or worse, that he had died. No phones to ring through. He just had to accept Jesus' word. Jesus word is failsafe! The nobleman moved his faith from needing the Physical presence of Jesus to heal to believing the power of Jesus word is enough.

The Nobleman is desperate to get to the one person to could heal His son. (Jesus) But he came on His terms. He could only believe that Jesus could heal his son if Jesus came with him back to Capernaum 25km away. His faith was only in the Physical. It has been said that Jesus wanted to Heal this mans soul as much as He wanted to heal the dying son. Lets see how this conversation plays out.

Jesus comes back to the Galilee area where He knows all is not going to be easy for Him. The people want Him to do miracles but will not receive Him as the Messiah. This is the setting where the Nobleman comes to Jesus.

The Samaritan woman goes and tells the people of Sychar to come and see the person that knew everything about her. They come and they believe that Jesus is the Christ the Saviour of the world. These people who were frowned upon received this revelation before anyone else!

In this sermon we look at statements 5-7 that Jesus makes to the Samaritan Woman. Within these verses Jesus makes it clear that true worship isn't based in any building but it is in "Spirit and Truth". He also shares about God the Father and so i want to elaborate on The Fathers role within the Trinity. Finally Jesus makes clear who He is to the Samaritan Woman. It is amazing that right through this conversation she tries to deflect and discourage Jesus from communicating with her but Jesus cares about the "Thirsty" individual as much as He does the "Thirsty"crowds. This week we start to look at the conversation between Jesus and the samaritan Woman. This week we look at the first 4 areas of conversation that Jesus brings up. She tried to deflect right through but Jesus persists. Religious rules say that Jesus should never speak to a Samaritan and never a Woman in public. Jesus defied that as he wants to help mend a broken woman who has been married 5 times and the person she is living with now is not married to her.

Statement 1/ He asked for water from her. She tried to dismiss Jesus by sayinng that Jesus should not speak to her. 2/ Jesus makes a 2 statements regarding himself and that He can give living water. She is skeptical 3/ He offers living water. She is flippant and mocking. 4/ He speaks about her past like an open book and she gives a half truth to try and Fob Jesus off. But Jesus cares too much. He wants to see her free from her guilt and failures.

Jews and Samaritans literally hated each other. We go through a brief history of why. Jews would never pass through the samaritan area despite it being so much shorter to do so to go from Judea in the South to Galilee in the North. Why did Jesus deliberately do this? Why did He speak to a woman in public when that was not acceptable at the time and a Samaritan woman at that?

He Wanted to teach his disciples that the person is more important than cultural or religious differences. Man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.
