  • Episode 19: Steward Release Time
    2025/12/17

This is a doozy! Episode 19 is all about Steward Release Time. We take an extreme amount of time to discuss the language in the CBA, the JCIM and how to properly request Steward Release Time.

We formulate a strategy, we discuss a sample Step 2 Appeal, and wrap up by discussing the overall goal - a working relationship with Management. This is the most in depth analysis of the Steward Release / Union Time language in Article 17.3!

More for Stewards, less for members. This episode will be hard to follow but invaluable if you want to build stronger Grievances and defend the jobs of APWU Members! For non - APWU Stewards, you can find value in this as our language is extremely similar.
