My guest on today's podcast is Chris Aitchson, the CTO of Ferocia and Up Bank. I was lucky enough to visit Chris in the Up Bank offices and I quickly understood what he meant by the line “culture is expensive”. He doesn’t just mean fancy offices and a great coffee machine (which they do have), but it's clear that a culture requires real investment, and a deliberate focus from leadership.
We dive into this, as well as ways to build good team balance in the tech space, and how to get great outcomes by maximising autonomy.
