In this first episode of Art and Exploration, I speak with curator Emma Sonnier, who selected my work for my first two exhibitions. Emma is a Lafayette-based curator whose work draws on her background in History and Art History from Loyola University in New Orleans and her current graduate studies in Museum Studies at Johns Hopkins University. Her experience includes roles with Acadiana Center for the Arts, the Bare Walls program at Basin Arts, and ARCHIVES Exhibitions, where she has helped create thoughtful exhibitions rooted in community engagement and cultural context. Emma is dedicated to building inclusive creative environments.

In our conversation, we talk about her curatorial perspective, supporting artists, and the importance of creative connections and continuous learning. We also discuss her upcoming move to Maryland and her plans to connect with artists and creative communities in Baltimore.

Art and Exploration explores the creative journey—how inspiration shapes our work, how opportunities unfold, and how we navigate our own path as creatives over time. 🎨
