    THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAAAAY!

We all have wonderful snow day memories, don’t we? That amazing moment we find out that school has been cancelled and we grab our winter coat, our sledge, our chainsaw, our mug of poisoned coffee…wait, did we lose you? Some of us just take Snow Days up to eleven, I guess. Welcome to Episode Nine of Season Two of A Couple of Old Fashioneds: Becca and Joe’s Double Feature Date Night at the Movies!

On this episode the Theme is, “Snow Days”, and the movies are:

    SCARFACE & THE HATEFUL EIGHT!

Who thought of snow as the street name for a certain famous ‘80s vice, and who thought of snow as merely the backdrop for inciting a bright red blizzard of bloodshed? And do you know what the rule is when the same movie is accidentally brought by both to the same double feature? Hey, when like minds think alike, it was bound to happen one of these snow days.

Watch the episode to find out if you guessed right, and stay tuned to the end to find out what the Theme will be next week!

Don’t forget now the show is its own broadcast to please subscribe to its YouTube and Podcast channels, share with anyone you think would enjoy and stay up to date on latest episodes! Follow it on Instagram and Letterboxd to see the complete movie lists and let Becca and Joe know in the Comment Sections on YouTube or leave a Review wherever you Podcast about whether you agree with their picks and what movie you would’ve brought if it had been a Triple Feature.

We hope these movies brought back memories of Snow Days of yore…or at least inspired some movie marathons of your own the next time you’re taking shelter on the couch. ‘Cause baby, it’s cold outside.

After all, the greatest gift a movie lover can give another is a great title they have yet to discover. That’s what movies are all about - they’re the only kind of marathon worth participating in and they’re what Date Nights are made for.

So settle in, grab your favorite old fashioned drink with your favorite old fashioned person (if that’s the pleasure of your own company then we completely feel you), and revel in a couple old fashioned conversations with Becca and Joe. They are, let’s face it, a pretty old fashioned kind of couple themselves.

    THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAAAAY!

Some of us always putt holes in one, and some of us become god complex egomaniacal robot overlords conquering black holes in space. Every friend group has one, right? Welcome to Episode Eight of Season Two of A Couple of Old Fashioneds: Becca and Joe’s Double Feature Date Night at the Movies!

On this episode the Theme is, “A Hole in One”, and the movies are:

THE BLACK HOLE & THERE WILL BE BLOOD!

No, this isn’t code speak for that time of the month. Who interpreted the theme to suggest the esoteric pursuit of a man’s fortune hunting in the hole he digs underground while never filling the one he digs in his own heart, and who interpreted the theme to suggest one big space hole? And did these two holes fill each other up or suck each other out of space?

Watch the episode to find out if you guessed right, and stay tuned to the end to find out what the Theme will be next week!

    THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAAAAY!

We all have a certain type, right? Becca and Joe are each other’s type…but what is it to be a type anyway? Are we not all ever changing and nuanced complexes of chemicals, just performing the way we think we’ve been typecast to perform? And why are we so against it anyway? Welcome to Episode Seven of Season Two of A Couple of Old Fashioneds: Becca and Joe’s Double Feature Date Night at the Movies!

On this episode the Theme is, “Against Type”, and the movies are:

    VERTIGO & MISERY!

Whose movie pick features dual types and deceptive typecasting, and whose movie pick features writers wrestling against type with cinematic typewriters? Did either Becca and Joe go against their usual type or are they just being typical?

Watch the episode to find out if you guessed right, and stay tuned to the end to find out what the Theme will be next week!
