Why do you feel like a failure even when you are trying to do what is right? Your identity in Christ is not determined by your worst mistake, your best performance, or what someone else called you.

In this episode of A Church in Flux: The Podcast, Paul Purifoy begins with the moment his mind went blank while standing before 1,000 people—and the lie that immediately followed: “You are a failure.” From there, he exposes how counterfeit identity develops through performance, comparison, condemnation, and painful labels placed on us by others.

Scripture gives a different answer. Through 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 1:4, Romans 8:1, Ephesians 2:10, John 1:12, Galatians 4:7, and Romans 12:2, Paul explains what it means to be chosen, forgiven and free, God’s workmanship, and a child of God.

The lives of David, Peter, and Saul of Tarsus show that rejection, failure, and your past do not get the final word. The message concludes with biblical declarations and a prayer for those ready to reject false labels, receive God’s truth, and renew their minds.
