Cam Cathcart was a youth pastor in Colorado making less than $40K a year. When his 9-month-old daughter had a severe allergic reaction and he got hit with a $15,000 hospital bill with $400 in his bank account, everything changed. That night at his kitchen table, Cam decided something had to give. He started learning about real estate, moved his family to St. Louis, and bought his first flip. Then COVID shut down his church, and in three months he made $250,000 wholesaling and flipping houses. Today Cam flips 60 to 100 homes a year, owns 65 rental properties, lives in Hawaii, and co-hosts The BetterLife Podcast with Brandon Turner. In this episode we talk about the hospital bill that changed everything, leaving pastoral ministry for real estate, the poverty gospel vs. being a good steward, why mentorship is the fastest shortcut, and building wealth as a man of faith.
