In this episode, Lindsay sits down with Danielle, a registered physiotherapist and author, to dive into all things health, wellness, and motherhood. Danielle shares her own journey, highlighting the challenges women face in prioritizing their health while juggling the demands of motherhood. They chat about moving away from an aesthetics-focused approach to fitness, focusing instead on functional movement, especially during and after pregnancy. Danielle opens up about the realities of postpartum recovery, body image struggles, and the power of community support. She also shares her go-to strategies for maintaining health as a busy mom, emphasizing the importance of self-care and offering yourself grace.
Danielle is not just a physiotherapist—she’s also a mom, an athlete, and a lifelong learner. With a Master's in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto, she has a passion for helping others find balance through movement. Over the years, she’s competed in fitness competitions, marathons, and triathlons, giving her firsthand experience with the ups and downs of physical training. These days, Danielle loves her Peloton, Pilates classes, hiking, and a good run. Her work with Flow allows her to bring that same passion for movement into the lives of her patients.
