Criticism often triggers immediate defensiveness, but spiritual maturity teaches us to respond with humility and discernment. Scripture reminds us to be quick to listen and slow to speak, allowing space to consider whether criticism contains truth that can help us grow. While not every critic is correct, a teachable heart allows God to use even uncomfortable moments for spiritual formation. As believers anchor their identity in Christ rather than public approval, criticism loses much of its power. In the kingdom of God, humility becomes the instinct that protects the soul and leads to growth.
