How many roles are you playing right now and when did you last check in on the person underneath all of them?
In this episode of the Summer of the Self series, we’re exploring one of the biggest questions in any personal growth journey: who am I really?
It’s easy to lose yourself in the roles you play. The identity of parent, the identity of leader, the identity of whatever role has felt most important lately and then one day you look up and ask: is this the life I really planned? Is this what I actually want?
I’m sharing how conditioning shapes the roles we develop, why it’s so easy to mistake a role for your whole identity (especially as a parent), and two simple tools for self discovery.
Plus this week’s reflection prompts:
- What are the roles you play in your life?
- Who are you separate from these roles?
