Queriendo permanecer unidos por siempre, ambos acudieron al anciano de la tribu con el fin de que les proporcionara un talismán por tal de estar siempre juntos. El anciano indicó a la joven Nube Azul que acudiera sola a la montaña del norte y capturase con una red al mejor halcón que allí viviese, mientras que a Toro Bravo le dirigió a la montaña del sur para atrapar al águila más poderosa. Ambos jóvenes se esforzaron duramente y lograron capturar cada uno a la mejor ave de cada una de las montañas.Hecho esto, el anciano les indicó que ataran las patas del halcón y el águila entre sí y luego las dejaran volar en libertad. Así lo hicieron, pero al estar atadas ambas aves cayeron al suelo sin poder volar con normalidad. Tras varios intentos, ambas empezaron a agredirse entre sí.
