I’m joined by my dear friend Kristin Weitzel for a conversation about psychedelic-assisted therapy, trauma, nervous system regulation, and what it can look like to create meaningful change from the inside out. Kristin brings more than 15 years of experience in breathwork, nervous system regulation, health optimization, and integration work, and she shares what led her from supporting plant medicine ceremonies to becoming a facilitator herself. We talk about the resistance many people have around psychedelics, including the belief that they do not have “big enough” trauma to address, and why the patterns formed through childhood experiences, relationships, environment, and other life experiences can continue to influence how we respond to the world. I also share what came up during my own journey with Kristin, including a traumatic experience involving my father that I had learned to move through rather than fully process. Kristin explains how slowing down, noticing the body's responses, and creating enough nervous system regulation can allow difficult experiences to be approached differently.
